Alex Russell is a lecturer, research and designer. He is programme leader for the Textile Design for Fashion programme and Senior Lecturer on Textiles in Practice at Manchester School of Art. His research, currently a PhD, includes the Repeatless project, which explores generative design and digital fabric printing. He also does a cartoon blog called HalfDroppedand works as a freelance designer for the Amsterstampa studio. Hello there!

I haven’t been taught by Alex Russell yet on my course, but another student had told me to look at his work. I really like how bold and vivid his digital prints are, very different to other artists I have been looking at. But I think it’s important for me not to box myself in by only looking at similar artists.
